The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education and the alleviation of poverty. The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit Corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world.
Annual contributions to The Rotary Foundation enable Rotarians to implement life-changing projects that empower youth, enhance health, promote peace and advance communities locally and internationally. Through Rotary Foundation Grants and programs, contributors can help change the world. Strong financial support, along with Rotarian involvement world-wide, ensures a successful future for Our Foundation.
As then RI President Arch C. Klumph said: “No one can tell us what Rotary will be tomorrow, but one thing is certain: What Rotary will be tomorrow depends on what we Rotarians do today.”

Raise for Rotary is a peer-to-peer fundraising platform. It accepts goals and donations in Australian dollars (AUD). This tool launched in July 2020 and allows people to easily create fundraisers that support The Rotary Foundation. Over the past year, individuals have used Raise for Rotary to create more than 800 fundraisers, which have collected a total of more than $400,000.

Creative members have been using various external platforms to raise money for The Rotary Foundation, but those have limitations. Raise for Rotary is a custom-branded platform that’s integrated with our existing online giving system. This makes it easier to create a fundraiser that supports specific Rotary causes, such as the areas of focus, fighting polio, or disaster response, and it expands our reach on social media.
External platforms make it difficult for us to extend Rotary giving credit, which can lead to frustration and confusion for donors. People who give through Raise for Rotary using the email address they use for other Rotary functions, such as their My Rotary account, will receive Rotary giving credit and recognition.
External fundraising platforms all have their own fee structures, rules, and guidelines. By creating our own platform, we can process gifts more efficiently and accurately. And that means more of the funds donated go directly toward Doing Good in the World.
Rotary started with the vision of one man — Paul Harris
Continuing the legacy of our founder, the Paul Harris Fellow program recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of US$1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International.
The honor was established in 1957 to show appreciation for contributions that support our Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or an approved Foundation grant.
The Paul Harris Society recognizes Rotary members and friends of The Rotary Foundation who elect to contribute US$1,000 or more each year to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, or approved global grants.
Rotary district 9620 will honour new members of the Paul Harris Society by presenting them with a certificate and chevron at a district or club event.
