The Gympie Rotary HERITAGE MAKERS FAIR is a celebration of excellence of heritage craftsmanship, an opportunity to meet the makers of over 75 heritage trades, fibre and textile arts; a showcase of exceptional quilting and artisanal exhibits; non-stop demonstrations by artisans gathered together onsite. Attracting visitors, exhibitors and artisans from far and wide, the event is the largest of its kind in Queensland.

COST: $15pp per day, includes all venues, displays, artisan exhibits, seminars

Onsite venues include:

- Heritage Lane, with makers demonstrating blacksmithing, gem & silversmithing, coppersmithing, coopering, cane weaving, lamp work, mosaic ad leadlight arts, bookbinding, printing, ropemaking

- the Woodwork Arena, masters of woodcarving and turning, luthers, spoonsmiths, whittling, pyrography, scrollsawing and more

- Wheelwright Arena - daily shows with a master 3rd generation wheelwright

The benchmark is raised yet again, the promise for another absolutely outstanding tribute to the heritage trades of our past and an opportunity to meet the makers that keep these almost-forgotten trades alive. Each of these makers, masters and artisans have a story to tell, a journey to share.…. it’s inspirational!

Make a weekend of it, spend a day at the HERITAGE MAKERS FAIR, and then, next day, visit other regional heritage attractions such as the Gympie Rattler, Woodworks Museum, Gympie Mining Museum and Studio Trails, showcasing the skills of our local craftspeople; artisan, heritage and historic communities.

Hosted by the Gympie Rotary Club, the Heritage Makers Fair partners with many volunteer community groups and charities who provide services at and for the event. This assists greatly with their fundraising endeavours, networking and group awareness.
