Event Reminders (In case you missed them last time)
IMPORTANT NOTICE
This is a friendly reminder to confirm your club membership and officer information in Rotary’s database by 1 July 2025. We will use this information to generate your July 2025 club invoice.

It is important that your club’s member information is up to date, because Rotary cannot change the club invoice after it has been generated or accept membership updates with your payment.

As a current club officer, you can ensure that your club invoice will be correct by checking the accuracy of the information in Rotary’s database. Here is how:
Sign-in to My Rotary and click on View Club on your club's tile on the homepage. From there, select Members. Club officers can download a member list under Members to compare the data in RI’s database to the information in My Rotary to make sure that it is accurate as the invoice will be generated based on the information on this list.
Report all new or terminated members and 2025-26 club officers no later than 1 July 2025
Members with admission dates of 1 July 2025 or before will be counted for the July 2025 club invoice.
Members with termination dates of 1 July 2025 or before will not be counted for the July 2025 club invoice.
Please note that incoming club officers can view data in My Rotary but cannot make changes.

If you are unable to update your member information online, a form is available upon request to data@rotary.org.

In addition, any changes to subscriptions to Rotary International's official magazine, Rotary [in English] should be reported to data@rotary.org prior to 1 July 2025.

For more information about the club invoice, including how-to guides and answers to frequently asked questions, go to My Rotary’s Club & District Administration page. For help with membership questions, contact: data@rotary.org.
Request for Help Make a Difference
A couple of years ago, at DG Tim Keeler's, District Conference we heard a very engaging and compelling speaker present on Bloodbikes Australia. Many Rotarians asked how they could donate but at that time there was no facility for Bloodbikes to receive donations.

The founder of Bloodbikes Australia lives in the Greater Springfield Area and working together after months of due diligence we have launched a Rotary Impact Project that will enable donations to be channelled through Rotary to this important and in many case life changing community service.
,I am seeking your support to promote this project to your club and to your members in that they hopefully will consider making a donation.
Please see the attached documents and donation form for your reference. An active donation e-form is also included.

As Bloodbikes Australia operate Australia wide we will be promoting the Impact Project to all Districts and their clubs.

Thank you for support.

Your in Rotary

Brisbane Kite Festival
The Rotary Clubs of Brisbane South-East and Carindale are pleased to again organise the Brisbane Kite Festival at the Minnippi Parklands, Brisbane on Sunday 24th August. Free to enter, it attracts young and old from all over to come fly kites and enjoy a day in the beautiful winter sunshine. Food trucks, children's rides and activities, kite selling stall, big kites display by Kites QLD and a Rotary sausage sizzle make for a great day out.

We are also always looking for extra help, so if you would like to lend a hand for a couple of hours on the day, please contact Colleen Orange from Rotary Bne South-East on  colleenorange@hotmail.com

How to get your news on the district Facebook page
The GIST and How to Get your Article in it
Welcome to the Gist! Rather than send multiple messages per week to club officers in the hope that they will channel your interests and pass on what is important to you, we will be sending one digest email per week using the Clubrunner platform which lists new things in the top section, and reminders of old news in the bottom section. That way, you only need to scan the top half of one email per week to get the Gist, and everyone gets the Gist!

This e-bulletin is published by your District Administrator and Webmaster to let Rotarians and any other subscribers know about what is happening in the district. The GIST is for time-sensitive brief stories sponsored by the District, a Rotary club, or a Rotary RAG or Fellowship.

  • District Announcements
  • Club event announcements
  • RAG and Fellowship event announcements
Event notices will run once only in the "Breaking News" section, and events will continue to be published down below in the "Event Reminders" section until the event has passed.

Articles that report on past events and projects, anything of enduring significance, and anything else that does not fit the GIST publishing guidelines should be sent to the District Newsletter editor at newsletter@rotary9620.org.

How to get an Event in the Calendar

To get an event in the Calendar, please send the following information to gist@rotary9620.org:
  • Mandatory: The text that you would like to appear in the calendar entry. Should include a teaser as to why someone would like to attend the event, ticket prices, etc etc. The text cannot include potentially sensitive information like email addresses, phone numbers and bank account details. If you wish to communicate these, put them in an image or PDF file that can be linked as a download document.
  • Mandatory:  Date, Time, Location. Please include the postcode in the location as this is needed to generate the location map. (Or the event could be online of course.)
  • Mandatory: Name of a Rotarian in the district who is the primary contact for the event.
  • Strongly recommended: An image to go in the calendar entry detail page. Landscape format works best.
  • Optional: Documents about the event like event flyers, etc etc. Max size: 5MB
  • Optional: Links that might be useful like bookings links, the home page of the charity you are supporting, etc.

How to get an event notice in the GIST

The GIST is published on Sunday. The deadline to get an event notice in every Sunday's GIST is midnight Friday. Requests coming in after Saturday morning will be handled on a "best effort" basis. To get an event entry in the GIST, please do the following:
  • Mandatory: Get the event in the Calendar (see above)
  • Mandatory: An image in square or landscape format to be the article. If you send an image that is in portrait format, it will be cropped to square according to the GIST editor's judgement. It's OK to send a PDF Flyer - the editor will just do a screenshot and use that.
  • Optional: SHORT explanatory text which will go under the image. 200 words max. Long explanations should go in the calendar entry.

Please send event info to:  gist@rotary9620.org

We are always interested in hearing your feedback and suggestions on this.
