Subject: URGENT HELP NEEDED AT RARE

Help please!!!
 
I have copied part of an email from Phil Saxby at RARE. We have a HUGE number of school desks and chairs being delivered over this holiday period, and desperately need help for unloading and storing at RARE. If anyone has another warehouse or shed where more could be stored on a temporary basis, we would also like to know.

Attached and below is the list of school equipment on offer to be dropped off almost every day for the next few weeks during the school holidays.
John and myself have had a good look at the short notice [4pm yesterday afternoon] transport arrangements and also the volume on offer.
The volumes are labelled as cubic metres.
With about 67 cubic metres per 40 foot container the total on offer is 10 x 40 foot containers.
The items are being delivered individually loaded with one driver per truckload, not on any pallets etc.
 
There is NO WAY that RARE  can firstly receive, pack and then store this volume.
However, we do wish to start a relationship with this company who supply the new school furniture, usually during school holidays, then proceed to dump the old furniture.
A future extra shed being constructed and better timing of container loading with more advance notice from this company, would see us being able to take a bit more of this possibly endless source of school equipment being offered.
 
 
Can anyone please help at the times listed below – it would be in the afternoon, usually 2-4pm.
I am requesting each of you to see whether the following days sufficient volunteers can be arranged to unload and stack at RARE.
 
DEFINITE, I think
Wed      18 Sept
Thurs    19 Sept
 
MAYBE, I hope
Mon      16 Sept
Tues      24 Sept
 
Please reply whether you would be available on any of these 4 days – bearing in mind that it could be anytime during the afternoon, with minimal notice on each day.
We would probably need to be onsite, ready willing and able from about 2pm each afternoon; as the driver will notify exact time only 30 mins prior to delivery [local Redlands excluded!]
There is certainly extra work available on site, whilst we await a driver’s specific delivery time.
If you think others may be available, also please let me know days and numbers.
 
I need to respond the company by later this morning - especially for next Monday afternoon, if it is possible.

We have a Wish list from 13 schools in Bougainville all requiring desks and chairs – so these will also be put to good use over the next few weeks/months.
