Help requested please:
Keiko is a Japanese medical student, on a Rotary Scholarship, & is staying with one of our members.
Her placements for 2026 will be at The Redlands Hospital at Cleveland for 2 x fifty-day rotations. This is not close to where she is staying.
Her first 10-week placement at Cleveland is due to start in March (dates to be confirmed) for 10 weeks and then another 10-week stint later in the year.
As one of those rotations is Obstetrics, she will be on call 24 hours a day. She needs to stay locally if possible.
Do you know someone who lives close to Redlands Hospital at Cleveland & may have a spare room where she could stay, rent free? She doesn’t need more than a bed and bathroom. She is super quiet and studies every spare minute. Every spare penny she and her family earns goes to supporting her study fees ($50k a semester).
She is an extraordinary young woman who is topping her medical classes at UQ while working (tutoring first year university students) and doing research.
